I have downloaded the software and it will not install properly. I initially clicked the upgrade when I installed the software because I had Office on the machine and the "trial" version of on there as well because it came with the machine.
As I recall I clicked the "upgrade" button rather than the "Custom" button which I anticipate uinstalled all of my previous version of Office which is fine so long as this one work. But, it doesn't. The installer goes through it's paces and gots to a point where it says "Please wait while the set-up files are prepared [or something similar - it is the large box that is yellow with the microsoft logo etc in it] After maybe 30 seconds it says that the "Setup has stopped working - A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available". I have the icons etc for the programs but they fail to start up. For example when I try to start up Excel I get a message that says Excel failed to launch in safe mode. Do you want to repair? It takes a fair amount of time saying that it is "gathereing information" and it finally comes up with it cant find ProPlusrWW. I have looked for the file manually and cant find it.
I don't get it, this is NOT a network, this is a stand alone home computer. I finally click cancel when all of that doesn't work and I get error I finally get a message that installation has failed. If I can't fix this I just want my money back and I will delete the program and either go back to what I had or download OpenOffice.
I don't care but I am not going to pay for something that doesn't work. I will cancel the charge on my credit card if I have to, but I am frustrated with this situation. I would appreciate a fix. There might be some corruption in the office installation because of which you could face the issue. Note: Ensure to read the disclaimer before working in the registry.
